Use an encyclopedia to get an overview of your topic. The library has general encyclopedias (like World Book) and subject specific encyclopedias (like the Encyclopedia of Religion or the Juvenile Justice Sourcebook). To search for works by an author in the library catalog, select the "Author" button using the format: last name, first name.
To search for works about the author or criticism about an author's work, select the "Subject" button and the same format: last name, first name.
(Hint: The books "By" and "About" each author sit near each other on the bookshelf. Each author has his or her own call#.)
