  • Pick a topic that is interesting to you.
  • Make sure you understand the details of the case and the outcome.

Find Your Case

Use the Westlaw Campus Research Database to find cases on medical malpractice.

Follow these steps to find a court case:

  1. In the “Browse” box, select “Cases” under all content.
  2. In the search box, type in your search terms plus “malpractice”. For example, “hepatitis c and malpractice” or “childbirth and malpractice”.
  3. You can narrow down your results if needed. To read a court case, click on the case name. Example, “Kober v. Dial”.
  4. Carefully read the case and make sure you understand the facts, especially the outcome since you will be arguing whether or not you agree with the case decision.
  5. Use the tools along the top of the page to save the case or print it out so you can easily refer back to it. The court case citation is also located at the top of the page.
